Job Description

• The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
• This role involves working with various hardware and software systems, providing technical support to end-users, and collaborating with other IT team members to implement and improve IT solutions.

Responsibilities

System Management:

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and storage systems.
• Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of IT services.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.

Network Administration:

• Manage network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and outages.

User Support:

• Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up user accounts, email, and access permissions.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on IT systems and best practices.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
• Monitor for security breaches and respond to incidents promptly.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Project Management:

• Participate in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure and implement IT solutions.
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Maintenance and Optimization:

• Conduct regular maintenance checks and preventive measures to ensure system health.
• Optimize system performance and resource utilization.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration or a similar role.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux servers.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to system management.
