Description

Our client, a major player in the metal recycling and commodity trading sector, wishes to hire an IT Support Officer to carry out activities and deliverables of the IT department.

Job Summary

• IT Support Officer will be responsible for the smooth running of computer systems, routers, switches, internet and ensure users get maximum benefits from them.
• Offer daily operations and systems support to personnel
• Manage Office 365 Environment including Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Information Systems, Device Management etc
• Manage Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks and Internet Connections.
• Manage CCTV – Configure, maintain and ensure 100% availability.
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
• Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades
• Restricting access to unauthorized site, downloads, and users.
• Setting up accounts for staff, educate them on log in and resolve issues arising
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware.
• Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades
• Investigating, diagnosing, and solving computer software and hardware faults
• Repairing equipment and replacing parts, checking computer equipment for electrical safety
• Maintaining records of software licenses
• Walk colleagues or clients through steps to help them resolve their technical problems.
• Support the implementation of new solutions or applications.
• Establish accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems.
• Any other role assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years cognate experience
• Experience in systems engineering, computer maintenance, server administration, installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in computer networking, LAN, WLAN installation, configuration, troubleshooting.
• Prior work experience in using an ERP system (SAP, Sage, etc.) and Office 365
• BSc in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
• IT Certifications

Skills & Knowledge

• Good knowledge of systems engineering, computer maintenance, server administration, installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of computer networking, LAN, WLAN installation, configuration, troubleshooting.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, ERP System
• Strong knowledge of developing Policies and SOP
• Strong knowledge of implementing policies and SOP
• Good interpersonal skills, should be able to interact with all staff across all level and cadre
• Ability to manage time and to prioritise work effectively.
• Enthusiasm for continual learning
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT and software trends
• In-depth knowledge of hardware and software
• Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
• Creative, open to new ideas and ability to multi-task effectively
