    IT Officer

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced and dedicated IT Officer to join the Oaken Events Team and oversee all aspects of the organization's information technology systems, software, hardware, and networks. The IT Officer will be responsible for managing the company's IT infrastructure, providing technical support, ensuring data security, troubleshooting issues, and implementing new technology solutions to support business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in managing IT systems within the event management industry.

    Responsibilities:

     IT Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, operating systems, and telecommunications systems.
    • Ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems and promptly troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
    • Monitor system performance, install upgrades, manage backups, and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime.

    Technical Support:

    • Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
    • Respond to help desk requests, gather information, diagnose problems, and provide solutions or escalate issues as necessary.
    • Develop and maintain documentation of IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and user guides.

    Data Security and Privacy:

    • Ensure the integrity and security of company data by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.
    • Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.
    • Develop and enforce data privacy policies in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)

    Technology Procurement and Management:

    • Evaluate, recommend, and manage the acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of hardware, software, and IT solutions.
    • Develop and manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the event management industry to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

    IT Training and User Support:

    • Conduct IT training sessions for new and existing employees to enhance their understanding and usage of IT systems and tools.
    • Develop training materials, manuals, and FAQs to facilitate self-help and empower users to resolve basic IT-related issues.
    • Provide ongoing user support to ensure efficient and effective use of IT resources.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management and support, preferably within the event management industry.
    • Strong technical knowledge of networking, hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
    • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues effectively and efficiently.
    • Experience with data security and privacy protocols, including familiarity with relevant regulations.
    • Proficiency in IT project management methodologies and tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, MCSE) are desirable.
