Irrigation Project Lead at Origin Group

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end deployment of irrigation systems across multiple sites.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Monitor progress, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure timely delivery.
• Act as the primary liaison with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance.
• Ensure supply chain efficiency and timely delivery of equipment/materials.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients during project execution.
• Provide regular updates, manage expectations, and address concerns.
• Build strong client relationships to drive repeat business.
• Commercial & Financial Management
• Control project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure profitability.
• Drive commercial outcomes by optimizing costs and improving margins.
• Prepare financial reports and forecasts for management.
• Supervise field engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of accountability.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of irrigation systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct post-deployment reviews to capture lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Prince2 are highly desirable.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in project deployment or operations within irrigation, water management, or related engineering fields.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
• Training or certification in Occupational Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems is an advantage.
