Job Summary

This role is for an Inventory Manager in a construction projects, where you will be responsible to ensure efficient management of all materials, tools, and equipment, from tracking stock levels and ordering supplies to maintaining a well-organized storage area, ultimately supporting smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities: 

Inventory Management:

• Tracking and Control: Accurately track and manage all materials, equipment, and supplies used on construction projects.
• Stock Levels: Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient materials are available while avoiding overstocking or shortages.
• Physical Inventory: Conduct regular physical inventory counts to verify accuracy of records.
• Software Usage: Utilize inventory management software to track, record, and analyze inventory data.
• Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize inventory levels.

Supplier Management:

• Sourcing and Negotiation: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
• Relationship Building: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and reliable deliveries.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality or delivery.

Logistics and Storage:

• Storage Management: Oversee storage facilities, ensuring materials are stored properly and efficiently.
• Order Management: Place orders for materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the construction site.
• Coordination: Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure materials are available when needed.

Reporting and Communication:

• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, costs, and performance.
• Communication: Communicate inventory status and potential issues to relevant stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities:

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory management efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and train inventory staff, if applicable. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills: Essential for managing large quantities of materials and equipment. 
• Attention to detail: Accuracy in tracking inventory is crucial. 
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve inventory-related issues. 
• Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, project managers, and site supervisors.
