Internal Control Officer at Citygate Global

To implement, monitor and measure the adequacy of control systems in compliance with regulations and internal control framework of the Institution. The Officer would be responsible for increasing operational efficiency by detecting and eliminating fraud and business risks.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to established internal control policies and procedures
• Conduct follow-up reviews of financial, operational, or regulatory compliance deficiencies noted during audits.
• Reviews daily operational activities
• Conducts risk management assessments of all departments
• Evaluates existing controls, and recommend improvements where deficiencies are identified
• Reviews and appraise the soundness, adequacy and reliability of accounting, data and reports
• Verify and maintain internal control checks and records including assets tags to ensure safeguard of company assets.
• Supports process improvements in alignment with internal control framework
• Stays abreast of changes/updates in regulatory guidelines and implements compliance
• Prepares monthly regulatory renditions and returns
• Evaluates the business recovery procedures for operational disruptions
• Review journal entries, disbursement and reconciliation
• Any other responsibility assigned by Management

Qualification Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline;
• Must have a minimum of 3 years' work experience with demonstrable capacity.
• Must have cross-cutting experience in internal Control, covering financial, operations, compliance and risk management
• Must have knowledge of audit/control and risk management in the financial services industry
• Must be result-oriented and well organized, with problem solving ability.
