Role Summary:

As an Intensivist at our client's healthcare facility, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). You will provide expert medical care, coordinate interdisciplinary care teams, and ensure optimal outcomes for patients with complex medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage critically ill patients in the ICU, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and multi-organ dysfunction.
• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' medical conditions, including physical exams, diagnostic tests, and interpretation of medical imaging studies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patients' diagnoses, clinical status, and response to therapy, using evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care teams, including nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and consultants, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, and laboratory values, and adjust treatment interventions as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support to junior medical staff, including residents and medical students, participating in patient care rounds and educational activities.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing updates on patients' conditions, prognosis, and treatment options in a compassionate and empathetic manner.

Requirements:

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency training in Critical Care Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine.
• Valid medical license to practice in Nigeria.
• Proven experience working as an Intensivist or Critical Care Physician, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of critical care medicine principles and practices.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
