Information Security and Infrastructure Engineer at VDT Communications Ltd

Summary:

• The role is responsible to implement and maintain I.T department security and infrastructure road map, and ensure that the information technology capabilities continually support the overall business' goal and objectives
• The job holder will implement I.T policies and procedures that enable strong security and risk-management capabilities, procedures and control that ensure information and data are secure and in compliance with security and storage regulations of the business.

KEY DELIVERABLES:

NETWORK SECURITY AND ADMINISTRATION

• Securing the LAN and all user access on the network.
• Implementing and managing various security policies.
• Responsible for network administration and security policies for securing the application servers.
• Downloading and update of antivirus for various client systems and application server.
• Configuration of IP and management ( IP Allocation).
• Support vulnerability assessment report generation, intrusion and penetration testing.
• Wireless configuration and security usage report.
• Secure the company's network with best practice using CEH.
• Troubleshooting, installing and maintenance of other hardware infrastructure (Printers, Network Switches, Access Point, Radio, Router, Biometric, CCTV, TV Screen, Telephone and call center solution).
• Maintenance and performance tuning of all EIS network device i.e troubleshooting and fixing LAN network issues, isolation of faults and schedule maintenance of all devices.
• Technical support for Up-country staff using the network and remote applications available for use.
• Monitoring of switches, wifi and usage capacity of LAN and serve infrastructure resources.
• Support various vendors and service provider to ensure a productive environment.
• Support cloud implementation vision of the company.
• Support the adoption and implementation of international best practices in IT infrastructure management processes.
• Render in-house support to staff pf the organization, troubleshooting active devices such as HP Printer, Smart Mobile Phone, Unified WIFI Connection, LAN troubleshooting, Network Monitoring tool.
• Ensure all users PC and servers endpoint security are up to date and properly secured.
• Carry out from time to time, information security awareness campaign at least once a month.
• Support implementation and upgrade of the business' software/applications and services.
• Support security architecture and implement procedures and controls to ensure that information and data are secure and in compliance with the security and storage regulations of the business.
• Support the process and team members in the analysis, enhancement, and tailoring of current practices and existing systems in order to increase operating efficiencies as well as reduce costs within the business.
• Support the IT department strategy by developing and implementing Information Technology processes that are aligned to achieving all elements on the business Score Card.

REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION:

• Analyze complex business requirements and make recommendations to HIT for technical solution on infrastructure and security.
• Provide standard operating procedures and step-by-step instructions for performing routine tasks the organization's infrastructure and security posture such as software update, hardware maintenance, and network configurations.
• Develop disaster discovery plan that outline steps to be taken in the event of a disaster or other unforeseen events that disrupt the company's infrastructure.
• Produce security audit report that provides an overview of the security measures in within the organization's infrastructure including Access Controls, Firewalls and encryption protocols, identify areas of potential vulnerability and provide recommendations for improving security.
• Develop performance metrics report and gives insights into the performance of various infrastructure components such as servers, databases, and applicationsMetrics such as response timethroughputs and error ratesetc.
• Provide change management that will outlines the procedures for making changes to the company's infrastructure, including approvals, testing and implementations to ensure changes are made in a controlled and orderly manner, reducing the risk of unintended consequences.

Responsibilities:

Experience and Qualification:

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field: MSc is an added advantage
• 7 years proven experience in I.T Security and infrastructure management.
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of I.T systems and their specification.
• Sound understanding of computer System (Hardware/Software)
• Experience in controlling Information Technology Budget
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication skill
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum environment.
• Knowledge in Docker and CI/CD - optional, though a plus
• Ability to identify and resolve performance issues and optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning and other techiques.
• Basic understanding of the entire secure application development process (security, design, development and deployment)
• Ability to understand business and translate them into technical requirements.
• Good knowledge of GIT, repositories, Bit Bucket pipelines.
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of I.T systems and their specifications.
