Igbo Language Teacher at De Mould Academy

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Igbo language lessons for JSS and SSS classes.
• Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson notes, and assessment materials.
• Conduct continuous assessments, exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
• Foster an inclusive, interactive classroom environment that encourages fluency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Participate in school-wide cultural events, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to parents/guardians.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and teaching standards.

Requirements

• B.A. (Education) / B.A. Igbo Language or related degree; NTE (Nigeria Teacher Education) is a plus.
• Minimum 1-4 years of teaching Igbo at secondary level.
• Excellent command of spoken and written Igbo and English.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to integrate cultural values and modern teaching methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
