About the Job

• Blue Phoenix Deepwater Limited, a leading indigenous provider of subsea diving, underwater inspection, repair, and maintenance services for offshore and nearshore floating assets in the oil, gas, and marine industry, is partnering with Stena Drilling, a leading international drilling company to recruit personnel for a long-term offshore deep-sea drilling project in Nigeria.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Must be fully committed to working safely and to accepting responsibility for the safety of fellow crew members
• Assist Supervisor in identifying jobs which may require a Risk Assessment
• Participate along with Supervisor in Risk Assessments
• Competent in the manufacture (crimping) of Hydraulic hose ends
• Comply with the Company Safety Policy and Permit to Work/Isolation Systems
• Responsible primarily for the maintenance of hydraulic lift system (where installed), HPU, cranes and other hydraulic deck/drilling equipment
• May also be required to give assistance as required by the Chief Engineer in other areas of the Technical Department.

Required skills and experience

• Suitable experience as Hydraulic Engineer on deep water drilling vessel
• Previously worked in the capacity as a Hydraulic Engineer on a deep-water drilling vessel
• 15 years' relative experience
• Previous experience with NOV hydraulic lifting systems
• Experience with Parker Hydraulic hose system
• Experience in contamination monitoring using ISO standards
• Experience of utilizing High-pressure tooling and working in high pressure systems >270bar.
