We are recruiting a Heavy Machinery Equipment Trainer to join a railway construction project in Nigeria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for training local operators, ensuring the correct use, safe operation and basic maintenance of heavy machinery used in the project.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and deliver theoretical and practical training sessions on the operation of heavy machinery (e.g. excavators, bulldozers, loaders, motor graders, dumpers, among others);
Ensure that all trainees understand and apply safety standards and operating procedures;
Assess the performance of operators and identify additional training needs;
Prepare training reports, assessment forms and attendance records;
Ensure the correct use of equipment during training and report any anomalies;
Collaborate with the HSE and Operations teams to align working methods and best practices.
Requirements
Proven experience as a heavy machinery operator or technician, with a strong practical component;
Previous experience as a trainer will be valued;
Solid knowledge of operational safety and basic equipment maintenance;
Ability to communicate and teach clearly and practically;
Availability to work in Nigeria on a rotational basis;
Fluency in English (preferred).
