    Health Manager, P-4

    The Health Manager reports to the Chief of Health and HIV for general guidance and supervision. You will be responsible for supporting the Chief in managing the Maternal, Neonatal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) Portfolio of the health section and leading the management, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the MNCAH output within the country programme. You will provide technical guidance and operational support throughout the programming process to facilitate the achievement of concrete and sustainable results, according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM),

    Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

    • Programme development and planning
    • Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
    • Advisory services and technical support
    • Advocacy, networking and partnership building
    • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building 

    Minimum requirements:

    • Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in one of the following fields is required: public health, pediatric health, obstetrics and gynecology specialization, family health, biology, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology or another relevant technical field.
    • Work Experience: A minimum of eight years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public health planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, communicable diseases (HIV, TB, and malaria) or health emergency/humanitarian preparedness.
    • Skills: Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Strategic Planning, Advocacy, Programme management and Partnership building is required.
    • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

    Desirables:

    • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
    • Experience working in a global health initiative (Global Fund, GFF, GAVI) is considered as an asset.
    • Executive education in management, innovation, and/or gender will be an asset
    • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
    • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
