    Head Teacher

    Location: Ibeju-Lekki

    Salary Range:  N300,000-400,000/month

    Candidates should preferably live along the Lekki-Ajah axis.

    Overview:

    The Head Teacher supports school leadership in implementing the vision and strategic objectives of the school. The Head Teacher will work with the Board of Directors to develop policies and ensure systems and controls are in place for academic excellence and operational effectiveness within the school.

    Core Responsibilities: 

    • Responsible for the day-to-day operation and activities, and managing the competing demands of the various constituencies of the school.
    • Support the implementation of academic and pastoral policies to ensure pupils receive the highest standards of education.
    • Capture and organize key school data with reliability for the creation and completion of various compliance reports (attendance, enrollment, staffing).
    • Motivate, coach, and train staff at all levels to ensure continuous professional development.
    • Serve as consultant to teachers in matters of classroom management, teaching methods, and general school procedures.
    • Be responsible for maintaining and developing a broad, balanced, and cohesive curriculum in line with the national educational standards.
    • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of staff and students, safeguarding, emergency, and contingency planning are carried out to the highest standards.
    • Assist teachers in matching appropriate assessment instruments to curriculum objectives.
    • Assist in the admission process for the testing, interviewing, and evaluation of applicants for enrollment.
    • Ensure compliance with legal requirements of government agencies that examine and accredit the school.
    • Support the business manager in the preparation and allocation of delegated budget to all departmental areas of the school, maintain appropriate financial records.
    • Ensure parents receive regular information about the school curriculum, their children’s progress, and other matters via appropriate channels.

    Requirements

    • PGDE or Master’s degree is required
    • Over 8 years of experience teaching and working within a school, preferably primary schools with emphasis on the British curriculum.
    • Up to 3 years of experience in management/leadership positions within a school environment.
    • Good leadership skills and ability to coordinate the team to achieve set objectives.
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
