Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the school staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all statutory records are maintained by teachers, e.g, diaries, registers, lesson notes.
• Closely monitor and give constant progress reports of staff/pupils towards achieving the enunciated goals of the school.
• Coordinate, supervise, and write reports on all tests and examinations conducted in the school.
• Prepare the school’s academic timetable promptly.
• Ensure the school’s academic timetable is adequately followed and attendance of lessons by pupils/staff is promptly monitored.
• Monitor the preparation of students for academic competitions.
• Ensure registration of students for external examinations.
• Establish effective systems for student discipline, behaviour management, pastoral care, and maintaining a positive and supportive school culture.
• Liaise with all related bodies for unique programmes that will boost the image of the school as a centre of excellence.
• Work in close contact with the heads of department for successful academic programmes.
• Supervise co/extracurricular activities in the school.
• Coordinate the activities of the head of departments.
• Any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time for the growth and development of the school.

Qualifications and Skills: 

• Degree in Education. A master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years teaching experience in a primary school setting, 3 of which should be in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of primary education curricula, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and management skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
• Understanding of current trends, developments, and challenges in primary education.
• Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the learning process.
