    Head of Product

    Role Overview

    • The Mission of the role is to guide the success of a product and work with a cross-functional team that is responsible for improving it.
    • This role sets the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for a product or product line. The position may also include marketing, forecasting, and profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities.
    • The Head of Product will provide the deep product expertise needed to lead the organization and make strategic product decisions.
    • S/he will analyze market and competitive conditions, laying out a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on customer demands.
    • The role spans many activities from strategic to tactical and provides important cross-functional leadership  most notably between engineering, marketing, sales, operations and support teams.
    • The ideal person will be responsible for defining the why, when, and what of the product that the engineering team builds. This means s/he will drive the cross-functional teams from a product's conception all the way through to its launch and afterwards till product retirement.

    What You’ll Be Expected to do at Fincra

    • Define the product strategy and roadmap.
    • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
    • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
    • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.
    • Create and own the roadmap; prioritise initiatives according to aggregate needs, with defensible reasoning that aligns stakeholders.
    • Energize and work collaboratively with the design and engineering teams.
    • Monitor and communicate updates on product priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Document ideas and plans; be the face of the product working directly with partners and our users.
    • Draw out feedback from our users on their experience with using our existing products.
    • Align teams on a shared vision and steer the company towards the execution of that vision.
    • Drive the decision-making process across all the aspects of product development (strategy, design, technology, launch)
    • Define, monitor and analyze metrics to guide product improvements.
    • Work with our external partners to deliver solutions that will solve problems for our users
    • Drive progress across product initiatives by removing blockers from the team and going the extra mile to ensure that the product objectives are met
    • Make several decisions daily on the best path to success for our product objectives.
    • Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
    • Capture market competitive and trend data, customer and community feedback and usage information to develop product insights.

    What You Bring Along

    • Background in Computer Science or any other related field.
    • Strong experience (ideally 5+ years) in product management.
    • Experience with products offered both via SaaS and self-managed.
    • Experience with the development of payment platforms.
    • Experience defining requirements for and contributing to the design of enterprise platform API’s.
    • Experience with one or more of the common use cases for the Payouts, Collections and Agency Banking.
    • Excellent written and spoken communications skills.
    • Solid understanding of B2B business models and sales motions.
    • Curiosity and an open mind.
    • Humble attitude -we are here for the success of the team and the company.
    • Empathy, transparency, and a good sense of ownership.
