    Head of Operations

    Location: Northerns Nigeria Maiduguri rooving to Katsina Sokoto

    Job Summary

    • We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Operations to lead our operations and ensure the effective delivery of our strategic objectives. 
    • This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing organization and shape impactful community-based programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
    • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
    • Lead program planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation in alignment with organizational goals.
    • Facilitate effective community engagement and stakeholder collaboration at the grassroots level.
    • Identify and drive fundraising strategies and donor engagement.
    • Supervise financial and administrative functions, promoting optimal resource utilization.
    • Maintain accurate records and databases for internal use, reporting, and external communication.
    • Support the leadership team in long-term planning, risk management, and organizational development.
    • Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff and stakeholders.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Human Relations, Public Health, or other relevant disciplines. A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
    • At least 8 years of relevant experience in nonprofit administration, program management, or related roles.
    • Demonstrated experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, and team coordination.
    • Interest in areas such as WASH, Nutrition, Special Education, or disability inclusion is highly desirable

    Key Competencies and Skills:

    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one local language.
    • Sound knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and compliance.
    • Experience in grant writing and donor communication.
    • Understanding of WASH frameworks and impact assessment.
    • Leadership capabilities with a team-oriented mindset.
    • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their application in development work.
    • Innovative, strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Passionate about working with marginalized communities and advancing child health and rights.
