Head of IT at Peniel Apartments

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This position includes, maintaining the computer systems of Peniel Apartment, ensuring that they run smoothly and providing technical support and advice to computer users within the organization. He ensures all Peniel Apartment computer systems are kept as reliable and efficient as possible.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES·    

• Responsible for Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners in Peniel Apartment.
• Ensures all computers Systems in Peniel Apartment are running smoothly and the IT function is acting in a proactive manner rather than reactive.
• Ensures computers and other IT gadgets works efficiently to enable optimal productivity in all departments.
• Plans and undertakes scheduled maintenance upgrades.
• Renders support to the IT Manager where necessary.
• Solves technical and operational challenges in the scope of IT reported by users.
• Follows Peniel’s code of practice as related to security and operation of computer systems with a thorough knowledge of standards of operating procedures.
• Cooperates with the IT Manager, suggests on the existing and future systems being developed or implemented.
• Assists the IT Manager in all stages of the day-to-day operation of the Peniel Apartment.
• Support computers in hardware and software malfunction in coordination with all the departments.
• Manages and prioritize any IT problems, impacting either revenue and/or the guest for quick resolution and pro-actively seek for preventative maintenance.
• Follow up on and maintain knowledge of new systems that can help in streamlining the processes in the Peniel Apartment.
• Maintain complete record of the systems related inventory.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
• Performs any other duties as assigned to him/her by management.
• Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of Peniel Apartment.
• Responsible for setting up accounts for staff, ensuring that they know how to log in
• Responsible for determining the nature of any problems they encounter.
• Responsible for solving password problems.
• Responding to all IT technical breakdowns
• Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults.
• Responsible for repairing all IT equipment and replacing parts.
• Supervises junior engineering and technical staff.
• obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures or fittings
• Checks computer equipment for electrical safety.
• Maintains records of software licenses
• Keeps record of all computer assets purchased by Peniel Apartment.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer science and/or certification.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 6 years of IT support experience in similar role.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Relevant certification required
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Pays attention to details.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and building automation systems.
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
• Expertise in internet management and trouble shooting
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
