• We are seeking an experienced Head of Internal Audit to provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organisation.
• The ideal candidate should have experience working in the banking or finance sector.

Key Responsibilities
Internal Control Oversight

• Design, evaluate, and continuously improve internal control systems across all functions
• Ensure controls effectively mitigate risks related to fraud, errors, and operational inefficiencies
• Recommend and implement control enhancements

Audit Planning & Execution

• Develop and execute a risk-based annual audit plan
• Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across all business units
• Ensure systematic audit coverage of high-risk areas

Risk Assessment & Advisory

• Identify and assess key risks across lending, operations, and financial processes
• Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management frameworks
• Provide advisory support on risk mitigation and control strategies

Compliance & Regulatory Monitoring

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Review compliance in critical areas such as lending practices and financial reporting
• Escalate control breaches and compliance gaps

Fraud Risk Management

• Lead investigations into suspected fraud and financial irregularities
• Strengthen fraud prevention frameworks and internal safeguards
• Promote effective whistleblowing and incident reporting mechanisms

Reporting & Governance

• Prepare and present audit reports to senior management and the Board/Audit Committee
• Highlight key risks, control weaknesses, and actionable recommendations
• Track and follow up on implementation of agreed audit action

Process Improvement & Efficiency

• Identify operational inefficiencies and control gaps
• Recommend process improvements and best practices
• Drive continuous improvement in internal audit methodologies

Independence & Objectivity

• Maintain full independence from operational management
• Provide unbiased, evidence-based assessments
