Head, NDT and Asset Integrity Inspection at Petro-Base Group

Role Description

• This is a full-time on-site role for Head, NDT and Asset Integrity Inspection. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day NDT operations, sourcing and securing NDT jobs, managing inspection projects and reports, ensuring compliance with safety and industry requirements, and coordinating with clients and NDT team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Capable of providing or directing training, examination and certification of personnel.
• Attending meetings, as necessary, to be up to date on job progress and work with stakeholders to resolve problems.
• Ability to perform Business development and sales activities.
• Oversee the work of NDT inspectors and ensure quality assurance and safety procedures are met.
• Ensure that NDT inspections are scheduled and assigned appropriately.
• Ability to bring in existing personal business network.
• Interpret, record, organize and evaluate test results and generate NDT and QA inspection reports according to codes and standards.
• Maintains equipment and ensures calibration are performed.
• Properly utilize NDT equipment and associated tools, make decisions as to their acceptability for continued use and keep abreast of new and advanced test equipment.
• Maintenance of the quality system to reflect ISO and all customer requirements.
• Comply with all safety and environmental policies and procedures.

• Responsible for training inspectors on-the-job and through instructor led training to support the inspection requirements.
• Responsible for selecting the methods, procedures and techniques for a specific inspection.
• Accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by the company.
• Communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats with all stakeholders.
• Ability to work overtime and weekend when necessary.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
• ASNT Level 2 Certificates in MPI, PT, UT etc.
• ASNT Level 3 certificate is an advantage
• Advanced UT Certification
• LEEA Certification
• Membership of relevant professional bodies. LEEA, COREN etc.
• A master’s degree will be an advantage.
• API Certification is an advantage

Work Experience and Skills

• Minimum 15 years of NDT/ Lifting Inspection experience.
• Experience managing NDT/Lifting inspection operations Onshore & Offshore.
• Advanced UT equipment experience.
• Experience in Tubular and OCTG inspections (API RP 5A5, 5C1 ,5CT, DS1, API RP).
• API 653, 570, 510 knowledge.
• Project management skills.
• Knowledge of oil & gas safety regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant codes.
• Excellent computer skills required.
• Ability to provide development training opportunities for technicians.
