Job Summary

The Head of Mechanical is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations within Dangote Group. The role entails strategic planning, project management, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance standards and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mechanical engineering department, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime and performance.
• Supervise major mechanical projects, including installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mechanical activities with business objectives.
• Establish and enforce safety standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and analyze mechanical performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage budgeting and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Prepare and present reports on mechanical performance to executive management.
• Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex mechanical issues.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and promote best practices throughout the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
