Role Summary

• The Head, Legal and Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions within the organisation.
• This role involves ensuring that the company operates within the boundaries of the law, adheres to industry regulations, and maintains robust corporate governance practices.
• The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice, implement compliance programs, mitigate legal risks, and ensure adherence to legal standards.

Person Specification

• A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and admission to practice law in Nigeria (BL).
• Relevant certifications in Compliance or Corporate Governance (e.g., CCEP, CIPP) are desirable.
• At least 5 years of legal experience in the fintech industry with a significant portion in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of the legal landscape, industry regulations, and compliance standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and technologies.
