    Head, Admin / Legal

    The Role:

    • As the Head of Admin/Legal departments, you'll be a strategic architect, leading and unifying three critical pillars of our organization: Legal Affairs, Human Resources, and Administration.
    • You'll provide comprehensive leadership, craft strategic direction, and ensure seamless collaboration across these departments. Here's what you'll do:

    Legal Affairs Strategist:

    • Lead the legal department, providing expert legal counsel and managing all legal matters with a focus on proactive risk mitigation.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive legal strategies to ensure unwavering compliance with all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations across a dynamic legal landscape, including:
    • Real estate development: Zoning and planning regulations, environmental laws, building codes, and construction contracts.
    • Property management: Lease agreements, resident relations, facilities management regulations, and data privacy laws.
    • Corporate governance: Board meetings, shareholder relations, and adherence to internal company policies and ethical standards.
    • Emerging legal areas relevant to real estate development, such as data privacy and cybersecurity.
    • Oversee legal teams responsible for:
    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts for land acquisition, property sales, construction, joint ventures, and other real estate transactions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and minimizing legal risks.
    • Managing litigation and disputes with residents, contractors, government agencies, and third-party entities, employing strategic negotiation and alternative dispute resolution techniques whenever possible.
    • Providing insightful legal advice and guidance across all departments, empowering informed decision-making at all levels.
    • Partner with leadership to identify potential legal risks associated with development projects, resident relations, and contractual agreements, implementing preventative strategies to mitigate them and safeguard the company's interests.

    Human Resources Visionary:

    • Develop and implement a future-proof HR strategy that attracts, retains, and develops top talent aligned with our evolving needs as a leading real estate developer.
    • Oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation & benefits, and employee relations, ensuring best practices and legal compliance.
    • Champion a culture of diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being, fostering a high-performing and engaged workforce that thrives in our dynamic environment.
    • Partner with leadership to ensure HR initiatives directly support the company's strategic goals, aligning talent development with our long-term vision.

    Administrative Powerhouse:

    • Lead and optimize all administrative functions, including facilities management, IT support, and procurement, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations that empower our core business functions.
    • Implement and maintain robust systems for data management, record keeping, and risk mitigation, safeguarding company assets and information while adhering to data privacy regulations.
    • Manage vendor relationships strategically, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring optimal service delivery to support our development projects and ongoing operations.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 15 years of post bar experience in a senior legal role, preferably within the real estate industry.
    • Proven track record of leading and managing diverse teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
    • Demonstrated expertise in Nigerian labor and employment law, real estate law, corporate governance principles, and emerging legal areas relevant to real estate development.
    • Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
    • A passion for building high-performing teams, fostering a positive work environment, and driving continuous improvement.
