Hausa / CRS Tutor at Palm Spring Preparatory School

Job Description:

• We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Hausa and Christian Religious Studies (CRS) Tutor to join our academic team. The tutor will be responsible for teaching students across relevant grade levels, fostering strong language skills in Hausa, and instilling moral and spiritual values through CRS. The role requires excellent subject knowledge, effective classroom management, and a commitment to nurturing students’ academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Hausa and CRS according to the school curriculum and standards.
• Teach students to develop proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Hausa.
• Instruct students on the principles, history, and values of Christian Religious Studies, encouraging moral and ethical development.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
• Monitor, assess, and record students’ progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
• Organize and participate in extracurricular activities that promote language and spiritual growth.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
• Support students in preparation for internal and external examinations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and share best practices.
• Uphold the school’s mission, vision, and values in all teaching and learning activities.

Education/Experience:

• NCE in Hausa and Christian Religious Studies
• Bachelor’s degree in Hausa, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification (TRCN certification is an added advantage).
• Proven experience teaching Hausa and CRS at primary or secondary school level.
• Strong command of Hausa (oral and written) and deep knowledge of Christian Religious Studies.
