Job Summary:

The Greenhouse Farm Keeper is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the greenhouse, ensuring optimal growth conditions for plants, managing the cultivation process, and maintaining the greenhouse environment. This role requires knowledge of horticulture, greenhouse management, and basic agricultural practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Care and Cultivation
   • Monitor and maintain the health of plants by ensuring proper watering, pruning, and fertilizing.
   • Implement integrated pest management (IPM) practices to control pests and diseases.
   • Carry out planting, propagation, and transplanting activities as needed.
2. Greenhouse Environment Management
   • Monitor and control greenhouse systems, including temperature, humidity, ventilation, and lighting.
   • Operate and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring consistent water supply to plants.
   • Ensure optimal growth conditions by adjusting environmental controls.
3. Record-Keeping and Reporting
   • Maintain detailed records of planting schedules, harvests, pesticide applications, and fertilizer usage.
   • Monitor plant growth and report progress to the farm manager.
   • Track inventory of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies.
4. Maintenance of Greenhouse Facilities
   • Conduct regular inspections of the greenhouse structure and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
   • Ensure the greenhouse is clean, organized, and free of debris.
   • Perform routine maintenance of tools, irrigation systems, and greenhouse equipment.
5. Compliance and Safety
   • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines for greenhouse operations.
   • Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding pesticide and chemical usage.
6. Team Collaboration and Supervision
   • Work closely with other farm staff to ensure seamless integration of greenhouse operations with overall farm activities.
   • Train and supervise seasonal workers or assistants assigned to the greenhouse.
