    Job Summary

    • A graduate trainee is a recent university graduate participating in a structured entry-level program. These roles combine practical work with intensive mentorship and departmental rotations.
    • Usually lasting 12 to 24 months, the goal is to develop fresh graduates into capable, well-rounded professionals and future leaders.

    Key Characteristics

    • Structure: A formal learning curve rather than a fixed role.
    • Rotations: Trainees typically spend a few months in various departments (e.g., Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operations) to learn all aspects of the business.
    • Progression: Unlike regular internships, they are paid and are designed to transition the trainee into a permanent, often elevated role upon completion.

    Typical Responsibilities

    • Learning & Development: Actively participating in training sessions, workshops, and team meetings.
    • Task Support: Assisting senior staff and departmental managers with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks.
    • Research & Analytics: Conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing reports or presentations for project reviews.
    • Assessments: Completing assignments and competency tests to demonstrate understanding and readiness.

    Requirements

    • Education: A bachelor's degree, often requiring a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) or equivalent.
    • National Service: Completion of mandatory national service (such as NYSC in Nigeria).
    • Age Limits: Frequently restricted to applicants under a certain age (e.g., 25–28 years).
    • Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and adaptability.
