Job Overview

• Sydani Group is seeking a highly skilled GIS Expert to support the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of a GIS-enabled enumeration exercise. The role will involve providing technical guidance, developing geospatial tools, supervising field teams, ensuring data quality, and generating actionable insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

GIS Coordination & Planning

• Provide strategic guidance on GIS activities for enumeration.
• Design and implement a GIS-enabled system with predefined grids.
• Develop spatially stratified sampling methods for representativeness.
• Support sampling design and periodic GIS data reviews.

Real-Time Monitoring & Supervision

• Establish and manage real-time monitoring dashboards.
• Restrict enumerators to designated grids using GPS-enabled tools.
• Supervise geo-referenced settlement data collection and validate accuracy.
• Troubleshoot GIS-related field issues.

GIS Data Collection & Analysis

• Oversee settlement, building, and household geotagging.
• Support enumerators with navigation tools and digital maps.
• Conduct quality checks on spatial datasets.
• Perform geospatial analysis for coverage, distribution, and density insights.

Reporting & Documentation

• Produce weekly reports on spatial data progress.
• Generate thematic maps and visualizations using MCTT tools.
• Maintain documentation of GIS processes, methods, and lessons learned.

Post-Enumeration & Scale-Up Support

• Conduct data validation and confirm spatial accuracy.
• Provide geospatial insights for scale-up planning.
• Recommend improvements for future large-scale exercises.

Deliverables

• Predefined enumeration grids and deployment plans.
• Real-time monitoring dashboards and issue logs.
• Weekly validation and deployment reports.
• Bi-weekly heat maps and facility-based GIS maps.
• Final thematic maps and post-enumeration evaluation report.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geography, Geoinformatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, or related field.
• Proven experience in GIS coordination, spatial data collection, and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and GPS-enabled tools.
• Experience supporting large-scale enumeration, surveys, or health campaigns.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Ability to train and supervise field teams.
