    Geomechanics Specialist

    You will provide guidance and support for solving complex technical problems that arise during drilling and evaluation . Working with leading-edge technology, you will make key decisions, resolve issues and oversee projects to shape enhancements. You’ll unite cross-functional teams to connect, share knowledge, innovate and to develop improvements.

    As Geomechanics Specialist, you will be responsible for:

    • Being an integral member of an Integrated Solutions Wellbore Construction project team to deliver successful drilled boreholes.
    • Building 1D pre-drill geomechanical and wellbore stability models which includes: Overburden, pore pressure, minimum horizontal stress and minimum horizontal stress, rock mechanical properties and collapse pressure
    • Supporting building a geomechanically related mitigation strategy with the project team to improve operational time, efficiency and cost
    • Becoming a trusted advisor during operational from a geomechanical perspective
    • Continually implement geomechanically related lessons learned from offset well analysis
    • Leading on communicating the results of the geomechanical modelling and strategy to the project team and customer
    • Leading on project reviews with subject matter experts and internal geomechanics team
    • Being the GaffneyCline energy advisory focal point to the customer to identify gaps and opportunities where other GaffneyCline energy advisory disciplines may be able to support and bring value to the project.

    To be successful in this role you will:

    • Have a Bachelors degree in Geology, Engineering or related discipline with significant Subsurface experience
    • Have at least 5 years' experience in Engineering/Technology. Geoservices or Subsurface or Petroleum Engineering or Production Engineering background is welcomed.
    • Demonstrate working knowledge of discipline topics (Production Technology or Petroleum Engineering) and ability to speak with clients about discipline applications.
    • Be able to communication at all levels within the organisation and effectively influence others with and without authority
    • Have the ability to work across disciplines and co-ordinate across several projects
    • Be able to work both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams
    • Have excellent written and verbal undefined skills and be fluent in English
    • Be highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
    • A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required (please indicate clearly on your resume)
