Generator Mechanic at Mikano

Job Description

• The required candidate should be able to troubleshoot and repairalternating current electrical systems on generators, automatic transfer switches, generator controls and engine related mechanical failures.
• He should also be able to perform routine preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes and inspections on all generator and by-pass pumps.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of generators
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with generators
• Repair or replace faulty parts and components
• Conduct generator testing to ensure proper functionality
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines when working with generators
• Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to solve complex problems
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and technologies related to generator maintenance and repair

Required Experience & Skills

• 4 - 6 years’ experience in installation, maintenance,repairs and overhauling of generator set
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair generator systems
• Experience with diesel and gas-powered generators
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Experience with preventative maintenance and inspection procedures
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in tight spaces
• Fluent in the local language of the duty station
• Intermediate English skills (speaking, reading and writing) a must
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical loads for proper sizing of generators and ability to design and
• complete generator installations.
• Knowledge of material specifications and spare parts for diesel engines, alternators and control panels.
