FTTH Last Mile/Home Connection Engineers. at Connig Technoserve

We are seeking skilled and customer-focused FTTH Last Mile/Home Connection Engineers to join our field operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the complete delivery of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services, from initial site surveys to the final activation of high-speed internet at customer premises. The candidates will ensure seamless connectivity, optimal signal performance, and exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

The Last Mile Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end installation of home internet connections, which includes but is not limited to:

• Site Survey: Conducting pre-installation site surveys to assess feasibility, identify optimal routing for cables, and determine equipment placement.
• Cable Installation: Laying and securing fiber optic or Ethernet cables from the distribution point to the customer\'s premise, including internal wiring within the home.
• Equipment Installation & Configuration: Installing and configuring customer premise equipment (ONTs). Ensuring accurate information is provided for configuration and activation of the customer. 
• Signal Testing & Optimization: Performing signal strength tests, ensuring proper signal levels, and optimizing network performance to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues, signal degradation, and equipment malfunctions during and after installation.
• Customer Education: Educating customers on the proper use of their internet service, equipment, and basic troubleshooting steps.
• Documentation: Accurately completing installation records, including equipment serial numbers, cable lengths, signal readings, speed test and customer sign-offs.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and best practices during installations, including working at heights and handling electrical components.
• Tool & Equipment Management: Ensuring proper use, maintenance, and accountability for all provided tools and equipment.
• Customer Service: Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor, ensuring a positive customer experience.
