    Fleet And Logistics Officer

    Description

    • Planning and preparing fleet and logistics-related annual budgets.
    • Review and validate vehicle repair scope
    • Review repair cost or parts pricing and provide insight to the procurement unit where necessary
    • Oversee routine and ad hoc maintenance of all company vehicles and ensure the vehicles are maintained in accordance with the service plan, and report
    • Developing and reviewing standard operating procedures for maintaining vehicles that guarantee best practices in the industry
    • Review vehicle insurance policies and liaising with the insurance companies to ensure the company’s vehicles are promptly insured, renewed, and process claims for indemnity as required
    • Maintain accurate record of vehicle maintenance history for reference, quarterly analysis and reporting
    • Conduct quarterly analysis of logistics expenses and make necessary recommendations.
    • Generate regular reports on logistics operations, including KPIs, budget performance, and compliance.
    • Provide effective and efficient coordination and mobilization of logistics support for business operations e.g pool car usage management, driver management, vendor management, fuel allowance management
    • Facilitate recruitment of drivers as required through an established rigorous selection process that ensures that only qualified and experienced drivers are hired. The selection process should include a thorough background check, driving history check, drug and alcohol screening, and medical examination.
    • Conduct quarterly comprehensive training for all drivers, covering areas such as safe driving techniques, defensive driving, traffic laws, vehicle maintenance, and customer service.
    • Establish and implement a system for monitoring driver performance, including regular reviews of driver logs, vehicle inspections, and customer feedback.
    • Ensure compliance to safety protocols and policies that prioritize the safety of drivers and passengers, including requirements for wearing seat belts, using hands-free devices while driving, and following safe driving practices.
    • Ensure that all drivers comply with state and federal regulations e.g drug and alcohol testing requirements, valid operational licenses, and vehicle safety standards.
    • Conduct quarterly driver evaluations to assess driving skills and identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure regular vehicle inspections are carried out and reports are generated and submitted to SMO BAO bi-weekly
    • Ensure vehicle documents and licenses are renewed promptly and updated electronic databases of these documents and licenses are maintained
    • Conduct on-boarding for new drivers and maintain all documentation for reference
    • Monitor and ensure the fleet operation is in compliance with company pool car usage policies
    • Any other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

    Requirements
    The ideal candidate for this position should have

    • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 3 - 4 years work experience.
    • Strong background in fleet and logistics management
    • problem-solving, and decision-making skills
    • Analytical Skill
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Technical expertise in vehicle maintenance
    • Must be able to drive and possess a valid driver’s license
    • Should be familiar with industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends in logistics.
