Perform fixed asset functions including maintaining fixed assets systems for accounting, processing, and reporting of fixed assets.
Reconcile all fixed asset GLs on monthly basis to ensure that value of each asset categories ties to the respective fixed asset GL
Review and reconcile all clearing accounts every month and maintain schedule of all reconciled balances in the clearing accounts
Propose/develop/improve on existing processes that will further strengthen finance/fixed assets processes.
Support external audit exercise to reduce number of audit query relating to fixed assets tasks or as may be assigned.
Maintain complete and accurate capex reports that detail all additions, transfers, and disposals.
Ensure that all company assets are tagged in accordance with the policy of the company and coordinate annual fixed asset verification exercise of all assets on sites across the states of Nigeria.
Maintain and upload monthly schedules on share point for all fixed asset postings in preparation for annual audits
Identify issues, errors, mistakes, change requests concerning fixed assets and effect all necessary corrections, posting and documentation.
Review all job completion certificates (JCC) for all live sites, escalate any anomalies, and prepare monthly variance report between signed JCC and left-over balances on all sites
Qualification:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Fixed Asset and Inventory role
1st degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or any Social Science Course
Possession of any professional qualification is an added advantage
Good overall knowledge of accounting double entry principle is an added advantage.
