Finance Officer at Norrenberger Financial Group

The Finance Officer will support the financial operations of Clearpay Microfinance Bank by ensuring accurate record-keeping, effective management of financial transactions, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role holder will assist in budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis to promote transparency, operational efficiency, and the overall financial health of the Bank.

Job Details

Financial Management & Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with regulatory and internal standards.
• Support compliance with CBN, NDIC, tax, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation of all financial transactions.
• Assist in monitoring financial performance and preparing variance analyses to identify trends and improvement areas.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts in line with the bank’s objectives.
• Track actual performance against budget and prepare variance reports.
• Provide financial data and analysis to support planning and decision-making processes.

Treasury & Liquidity Management

• Assist in managing cash flow and daily banking operations to ensure adequate liquidity.
• Support monitoring of loan disbursements, repayments, and fund utilization.
• Contribute to implementing cost-control and revenue-enhancement measures.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support compliance efforts with statutory and internal audit recommendations.
• Assist in coordinating audit exercises and preparing necessary financial documentation.

Team Support & Collaboration

• Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial tasks.
• Collaborate with other departments to support efficient financial operations.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional Qualification: Relevant certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

KNOWLEDGE & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Good understanding of CBN and NDIC reporting and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience in budget preparation, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or financial management software.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively within a team.
