    Finance Officer

    Position Summary

    • This position will responsibly take charge of the financial management of the organization by administering accounting operations to meet legal standards and also familiar with audits, invoices, budget preparation, financial reports including bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and the day-to-day management of financial transactions and procedures.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or HND in relevant fields.
    • Post Graduate Degree or Professional Membership such as ICAN will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years cognate experience as a Finance Officer on PEPFAR and/or Global Fund Projects.
    • Knowledge of Financial Regulation.
    • Sharp Time Management Skills.
    • Solid knowledge of Financial and Accounting Procedures.
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills.
    • Experience using financial software.
    • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage complex data.

    Key Competencies:

    • Work closely with the Finance Manager to manage the fund of the organization that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives, as well as the project goals.
    • Self Motivated, Target Oriented and Time Management.
    • Establish excellent communication and team-building skills. He/She can establish and maintain good working relationships inside and outside the organization.
    • Responsible for financial and administrative management of grants.
    • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Good knowledge of preparing financial statements and reports.
    • In-depth knowledge of lease products and corresponding tax and accounting ramifications.
    • Knowledge and understanding of lease and loan documentation.
    • Skilled in risk managementplanning, contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
    • Proficient with MS Word processing, excel spreadsheets, accountancy packages, QuickBooks and PowerPoint.
    • Familiar with payroll systems, reporting and office administration.
    • Coordinate the payroll systems, making payments are made accurately.
    • Lead, monitor and compare actual performance, developing income projections to the predefined budget.
    • Identify trends and make recommendations to team leaders and field colleagues on areas with significant over or underspending.
    • Prepare close-out documentation at the end of funding cycles in compliance with Government and Funderrs' regulations.

    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionally discharge their duties.
    • Experience in dealing with difficult and sensitive situations professionally.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and lifestyles.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Ready to start work immediately.
