As the Finance Associate you will support the Finance Team with the smooth and effective running of the Department, which deals with the administration of the company finances including payments, bank reconciliation and more.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role would suit a candidate who is capable of acting on their own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be highly numerate, extremely organised and have excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly cash budget
Follow up with all payment requests sent to the Department email inbox from different Departments daily
Confirm that payment requests are in line with the approved budget
Process all financial transactions after verifying that relevant supporting documents are attached
Post all approved payment requests in quickbooks to the relevant account daily
Follow up with relevant Officers for payments to be initiated and approved daily
Send all evidence of payments to Department requesting daily
Maintain schedule of Account Payable and keep it updated daily
Maintain schedule of Accounts Receivable and keep it updated daily
Monitor all Accounts Payable and follow up for settlement daily
Monitor all Accounts Receivable and notify the Financial Controller if payment is not received.
Maintain detailed schedules for expenses daily.
Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and keep it updated as assets are acquired.
Review all payment requests and determine relevant applicable taxes
Post all Journals relating to Taxes
Maintain Withholding Tax Schedule and make remittances to relevant Authorities monthly
Maintain VAT Schedules and File VAT Returns Monthly.
Maintain Investment Schedule and properly file Investment Certificates
Carry out any other assigned task
Requirements
1+ years experience working in a Finance Function
A Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable educational institution (in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business discipline is preferred)
Knowledge and working experience of Excel and Google sheets
Knowledge and working experience of Quickbooks or any relevant Accounting Software.
Able to work effectively and productively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical skills to monitor, measure and report
Excellent attention to detail and highly organised
Confident with a strong sense of judgement
Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a Team.
