    Finance and Accounts Officer

    Job Summary:

    • The Account Officer is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The role supports financial operations by handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciling statements, and assisting with financial reporting to support renewable energy projects and operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Transactions & Record Keeping:

    • Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

    Accounts Payable & Receivable:

    • Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
    • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
    • Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable records.

    Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management:

    • Perform periodic bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
    • Assist in managing cash flow and ensuring sufficient funds for operations.
    • Handle petty cash transactions and maintain accurate records.

    Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Support budget preparation and financial forecasting activities.
    • Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.

    Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support:

    • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare supporting documents for audits and liaise with auditors.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial laws and accounting best practices.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
    • Assist in financial process improvement initiatives.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance & Accounts.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the renewable energy or related industry.
    • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP).
    • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.

    Key Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
