    Field Manager

    Job Objective

    Lead and manage the Field Engineer team, to provide field support, resolve escalated incidents and assigned problems, maintain the WIOCC Network. To be acknowledged as the regional field expert within the Company.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage 24/7 regional field team, escalation / on-call
    • Manage PoP facilities and data centre supplier management
    • Establish and manage field routine maintenance activities, comply with health & safety legislation
    • Lead problem resolution relating to field issues
    • Manage spares inventory, local records and data reconciliation with NetSuite
    • Manage the lab and bench testing area
    • Network installation, testing & commissioning, bringing into service, integration
    • Network quality and performance management
    • Creation of routine & ad hoc reports as needed
    • Assist other departments and lead and report on projects as requested by the Programme Manager
    • Adhere to, lead compliance with, and develop Company policies and procedures
    • Champion the development, use of and ensure data integrity of NetSuite
    • Innovate, report on and continually improve on operational and network KPIs
    • Service reporting excellence for both internal, clients and suppliers
    • Mentorship & training of regional field team on technical competency

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in a technical field
    • Technical certifications CCNA or JNCIA, CCNP or JNCP (desirable) or equivalent work experience

    Experience & Skills:

    • Requires minimum of 6 years’ technical experience in telecom industry, with desirably at least 3 years in second level technical support or equivalent and essentially 3 years in a team leader role
    • Knowledge of platforms including OTN, DWDM, SDH, Data (Ethernet, IP/MPLS, OSPF, BGP)
    • Knowledge in supporting transmission and switching equipment i.e. Mikrotik, Juniper, Tejas Networks etc
    • Experience in network monitoring tools e.g. Cacti, MRTG, PRTG, NPM etc
    • Ability to share knowledge and mentor other team members
    • Effective written and verbal communications skills evidenced by previous work history and accomplishments
    • Excellent communications and soft skills, including ability to listen to and summarize and concisely share key information with clients
    • Must use B/OSS tools effectively to record information accurately and concisely in a timely manner
    • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
