Fiber Technician (Experienced) at CITCC Nigeria Limited

Job Description

• Patrol assigned routes in accordance with the company’s requirement
• Carry out preventive Fiber maintenance
• Avoid downtime / Fiber cut 100%
• Establish and maintain a good relationship with the community people
• Carry out Fiber test and splicing
• Engage in the Termination of fibre cable on ODF/Patch panel.
• Ensure maintenance equipment are in good shape
• Acts as a fibre project engineer during project maintenance
• Ensures implementation conform to the project plans and clients standards and specifications
• Assists with developing and improving a set of standards and specifications for the installation of optic fibre.
•  Analyse and convert OTDR report into a readable format
•  Complete troubleshooting within the time required by the customer
•  Give a daily report of the route situation.

Competencies and Capabilities

• Must be experienced and familiar with FOC civil work
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite for report writing
• Good team cooperation and work ethic
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• The ability to drive and a valid driver’s license is an added advantage.

Other requirements

• Must be healthy, Agile and physically strong
• Must be ready to move from one location to another as duty dictates

Work Experience:  At least 1 - 2 years’ experience in FOC Maintenance. Must be able to splice excellently.

Educational Qualifications: Minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Engineering, Sciences or any other related course. OND ''in view'' is also acceptable.

NOTE: Candidates' ability to splice will be tested during the assessment exercise. Candidates who can not be present at the assessment venue in Abuja should not APPLY.
