    Fashion Designer

    Jaola workshop is looking for someone to join our lagos-based clothing manufacturing team. This role requires someone who is hands-on enthusiastic and ready to get involved.
    The position will require working closely with the workshop manager, production manager, procurement, pattern drafters, tailors on all the exciting projects we have coming up.
    Responsibilities

    • Direct, create & work collaboratively with pattern & tailors teams from design concept to completion aligning with design direction, trends, deadlines, and customer insights
    • Direct the pattern & tailors team to create, drape and construct the most amazing designs and work with client fabrics
    • Direct the team to deliver beautiful client collection that is true to the design aesthetic
    • Work with the broader teams to ensure that there is a clear definition between the departments and that we offer true choice to the customer
    • Ensure timely development of the collection for each client
    • Engage in research for new sustainable fashion trends ensuring our customer focus by constantly evaluating customer types, trends, insights, and tendencies
    • Provide a high level of awareness and knowledge of current and future trends and to use this enhance the design quality requirements
    • Product development and sample experience
    • Strong understanding of good quality garments construction & development
    • Strong understanding of trim terminology and fabric compositions
    • Passion for the brand and understanding of the position in the market
    • Strong visual communication skills
    • Advising procurement on trims and fabric suppliers when necessary
