    Farm Manager

    Role Overview

    • We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Farm Manager to oversee and optimize operations on its 150-hectare farmland.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for improving crop yields, implementing best agronomic practices, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • This role is performance-focused and requires a manager with proven experience in large-scale crop production.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Increase crop yield by a minimum of 25–35% above the normal yield standard within the first two farming seasons across rice, maize, and soybean production.
    • Develop and execute annual crop production plans with clearly defined targets for yield per hectare and cost efficiency.
    • Achieve optimal input utilization, reducing fertilizer and seed wastage by at least 15% per season through proper planning and application.
    • Ensure timely farm operations, with land preparation, planting, and harvesting completed within 95% of scheduled timelines.
    • Maintain accurate farm records, including input usage, labor costs, yield data, and production expenses, with 100% monthly reporting compliance.
    • Supervise and manage farm labor, achieving 90% workforce productivity efficiency through task allocation and performance monitoring.
    • Implement pest, disease, and weed control programs to limit crop losses to less than 5% per season.
    • Ensure equipment uptime, maintaining farm machinery availability at 95% operational readiness during peak periods.
    • Coordinate and establish demo plots across Matrix sales regional hubs to create visibility for our fertilizer and other agricultural inputs.
    • Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, achieving zero major safety violations annually.
    • Prepare post-harvest reports, including yield analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Track farm inputs, outputs, and operational costs, and prepare regular performance reports.

    Requirements
    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience managing medium to large-scale crop farms (100 hectares and above).
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated success in improving farm productivity and yield performance.
    • Strong knowledge of rice, maize, and soybean cultivation practices.
    • Ability to plan, budget, and manage farm inputs efficiently.
    • Proficient in farm record-keeping, reporting, and basic farm management software/tools.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to live on or regularly commute to the farm location.
    • Knowledge of Agrochemical use is an advantage
