    Farm Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Farm Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and management of livestock farming operations.
    • This includes animal health and welfare, production targets, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with biosecurity and industry regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily livestock care, feeding, and welfare.
    • Monitor animal health, coordinate vaccinations, and liaise with veterinary services.
    • Manage breeding, growth, and production schedules to meet targets.
    • Supervise and train farm staff, assigning daily tasks and ensuring performance standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of production, feed usage, health treatments, and stock levels.
    • Implement biosecurity measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Manage farm budgets, control operational costs, and track inventory.
    • Oversee maintenance of farm facilities, equipment, and housing units.
    • Prepare and submit regular performance and operational reports to management.
    • Drive continuous improvement in production methods and farm efficiency.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of HND/B.Sc. Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Production and Health, Agricultural Science or related field.
    • Proven experience (3+ years) managing livestock or poultry farm operations.
    • Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and biosecurity practices.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.
    • Proficiency in farm management software or record-keeping tools
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
