Facilities Engineer at ExxonMobil

Facilities engineer contributing to all stages of asset development, operation and reliability related to surface facilities for the Nigeria DW assets and stewarding the topsides facilities management programs. The role of the Facilities Engineer covers the following principal areas: 
Surveillance of surface facilities, technical support for operations and maintenance, facility performance monitoring and troubleshooting, process data analysis, reliability program analysis and  engaged daily with operations and technical teams.

Base: Lagos, Nigeria with travel to offshore facilities

Job Role Responsibilities

What will you do?

• Provide technical engineering support to production and operational sites to enhance reliability, efficiency, and profitability.
• Monitor facility performance, conduct process surveillance, and troubleshoot operational issues to maintain optimal production.
• Identify and implement process improvement, optimization, and debottlenecking opportunities to maximize asset performance.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and ensure closure of corrective actions.
• Lead and support facility modifications through the Management of Change (MOC) process, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
• Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and startup activities, including scope definition, execution planning, inspection support, and commissioning.
• Provide engineering support for brownfield and improvement projects across existing production facilities.
• Develop and review technical deliverables such as design basis documents, process calculations, engineering studies, and risk assessments.
• Perform process modeling, simulations, and mass and heat balance calculations to support operational and project decisions.
• Support the development, evaluation, and deployment of new technologies to improve facility performance and operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to technical readiness assessments, technology evaluations, and implementation of innovative engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex technical challenges and deliver business objectives.
• Share technical knowledge and participate in internal engineering networks, communities of practice, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, standards, and best practices 

Skills & Qualifications

• University Bachelor of Science / Engineering Degree
• NYSC Completion Certificate
• Minimum of Bachelor of Science / Engineering in any of the following degrees: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Petroleum, Production, Industrial, Civil
• Knowledge of:  Analytical Performance Prediction, Artificial Lift, Capacity Allocation & Mgt, Integrated Surveillance and Optimization, Operations Support and Facilities Surveillance, Production Data Mgt, Production Well Testing and Measurement, Oil-Water Separation & Treating, Process Design & Surveillance

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years relevant oil & gas industry experience
• Minimum of 5 years production optimization and engineering experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
