    External Account Manager

    Your Role

    • As part of your role in the assigned industry, you will manage, develop, and maintain crucial relationships with suppliers and customers. Your primary focus will be on maximizing sales and profitability through these relationships. A key aspect of your responsibilities will involve identifying opportunities within the business landscape and effectively capitalizing on them to drive growth. This role emphasizes strategic engagement with both suppliers and customers to ensure sustainable business development and success.

    Responsibilities

    • In the assigned industry, manage, develop, and maintain key supplier and customer relations to maximize sales and profit.
    • Identify opportunities and monetize business potential by targeting high-value (gold/silver/bronze) accounts and key suppliers through product bundling, cross-selling, and value-based pricing.
    • Build strong market intelligence and stakeholder networks to support strategic business growth.
    • Execute customer visits, manage proposals, respond to requests for quotations, and drive end-to-end deal closure.
    • Identify, prioritize, and convert potential customers into profitable business while maintaining and expanding market and product knowledge.
    • Complete and maintain sales and revenue-related reports, including customer relationship management data.
    • Lead or support customer and supplier initiatives and projects that contribute to business development objectives.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on personnel and administrative matters as required by management.
    • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) systems in accordance with company policies.
    • Promote awareness and adherence to QHSE standards across the department and ensure proper documentation of compliance.

    Your Profile

    Experience

    • Experience in the chemical distribution business, preferably in a sales capacity (2–5 years), is required to understand industry-specific challenges, product applications, and customer needs.
    • Superior communication and negotiation skill is essential for managing key supplier and customer relationships, closing complex deals, and influencing stakeholders across various functions.
    • Must be versatile with Microsoft Office, with proven ability to create reports, presentations, and data analysis tools that support strategic decision-making and day-to-day business development activities.

    Education

    • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required to ensure a solid technical foundation in the industry.
    • ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 Auditor or Lead Auditor training certifications are essential to support quality, health, and safety compliance within the business.
