Environmental Officer at Ascentech Services Limited

Responsibilities

• Assist the technical department in conducting on-field air quality monitoring and environmental data gathering exercises.
• Collaborate with laboratory unit in interpreting environmental monitoring and toxicity bioassay results.
• Interpret and write technical reports on Impact Assessment and bio-monitoring studies such as EA, PIAR, EIS, EMP, EER, EA etc.
• Monitor and control water, air and noise pollution and collect water samples for analysis
• Initiate and conduct environmental health impact or risk assessments
• Prepare policy documents and guidelines relating to environmental health matters
• Maintain records, prepare statistics, write reports and give evidence in court cases where health or environmental regulations have been violated.
• Investigate when there is an incident, such as pollution, a noise problem, toxic contamination, pest infestation or an outbreak.
• Responsible for carrying out impact assessment for environment awareness projects

Requirement

• BS in environmental health/science or related course.
• Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience
• Candidate must have clear understanding of best safely practices who can work with little or no supervision.
• Professional certification would be an added advantage
