    Entry-Level Accountant

    Reports To: Head of Accounts

    Job Summary

    The Entry-level Accountant will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Nigerian accounting standards, company laws and tax regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
    • Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
    • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
    • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Process invoices, receipts, and payments in line with company policies.
    • Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
    • Assist with tax computations and statutory filings (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT).
    • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial accuracy.
    • Participate in internal audits and inventory checks.
    • Stay updated on Nigerian financial regulations and accounting standards.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 0–2 years of relevant experience (NYSC members or recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
    • Basic understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
