English Language Teacher at Word of Faith Group of Schools

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning & Delivery

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum (e.g., WAEC/NECO English Language syllabus).
• Teach components such as grammar, essay writing, comprehension, oral English, and summary skills.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.

Student Assessment & Feedback

• Design, administer, and mark classwork, tests, assignments, and mock exams.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to guide improvement.
• Keep accurate records of student progress and performance.

Language Skill Development

• Encourage fluent communication through structured speaking and listening activities.
• Foster vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and writing accuracy.
• Guide students in effective exam techniques and time management.

Classroom & Behaviour Management

• Maintain a respectful, focused, and positive classroom environment.
• Enforce school discipline and academic policies consistently.
• Encourage student participation, collaboration, and responsibility.

Student Support & Mentorship

• Identify and support students with learning difficulties or language challenges.
• Provide academic mentoring and encourage students to develop confidence in using English.
• Promote reading culture and communication skills through debates, public speaking, or drama.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Education, Linguistics, or related field (B.A. with PGDE/B.Ed.).
• TRCN certification (preferred or in progress).
• Minimum of 2–3 years teaching experience in a senior secondary school.
• Experience in preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and UTME exams.
