The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. This role ensures all electrical work complies with safety standards, technical specifications, and operational requirements to support efficient facility and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and control equipment.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components to identify the cause of breakdowns and correct problems.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Perform preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems and components.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, company policies, and safety standards.
Assist in designing and upgrading electrical systems and layouts.
Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and other technicians on projects.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and inspections.
Provide support during equipment installations, upgrades, or relocations.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.
Proven experience as an Electrical Technician or in a similar role, 3 -6 years.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
Hands-on experience with electrical tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing devices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
Licensed or certified electrician (depending on region).
Experience with PLCs, automation systems, or industrial machinery.
