Electrical Engineer – Powerhouse, MV & LV Installation at Mikano

Job Purpose

• The role requires strong hands-on field experience in powerhouse installation, Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical installations, generator synchronization, power distribution, and electrical commissioning.

Responsibilities
Powerhouse & Generator Installation:

• Supervise and execute electrical installation works for generator powerhouses and power generation projects.
• Coordinate the installation of generators, control panels, distribution boards, synchronizing panels, and associated electrical equipment.
• Ensure proper cable routing, cable termination, glanding, earthing, and identification.
• Interpret and work from electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, layouts, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct site inspections to verify that installations conform to approved drawings and specifications.

MV Electrical Installation:

• Supervise and execute MV installations, including MV switchgear, RMUs, transformers, MV cables, protection systems, and associated equipment.
• Carry out or supervise MV cable laying, termination, jointing, testing, and commissioning.
• Ensure proper installation and connection of transformers and MV distribution systems.

LV Electrical Installation:

• Supervise LV installations including LV panels, MCCs, ATS panels, distribution boards, control panels, and auxiliary systems.
• Troubleshoot LV electrical faults and power distribution issues.

Generator Synchronization & Commissioning:

• Participate in the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of generator synchronization systems.
• Support testing of synchronizing panels, load-sharing systems, AMF/ATS systems, and generator control systems.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults on generators, switchgear, transformers, control panels, and distribution systems.
• Provide technical support for breakdowns and emergency electrical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in electrical installation, power generation, or industrial electrical projects.
• Strong practical field experience in generator powerhouse installation and commissioning.
• Proven experience in MV and LV electrical installation.
• Experience with generator synchronization, load sharing, and commissioning will be highly advantageous.
