Electrical Engineer (Contract Staff) – Electricity Distribution at BU Power Limited

Job Summary

• We urgently need an experienced Electrical Engineer with good knowledge of electricity distribution for a 6-month contract position.
• You will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of power distribution systems, including planning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, design, analyze, and optimize medium and low voltage distribution networks.
• Conduct load flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination.
• Support the maintenance and upgrading of distribution lines, transformers, substations, and associated equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) standards, IEC/IEEE codes, and safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Troubleshoot network faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with field teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time.

Requirements

• HND, Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to resume immediately
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in electricity distribution (ideally with a DISCO, IPP, or power utility company).
• Strong knowledge of power system analysis, distribution planning, and protection systems.
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or PowerFactory).
• Hands-on experience with high/medium/low voltage equipment, transformers, and switchgear.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
