    Electrical Engineer

    JOB PURPOSE & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Purpose

    • Manage all Electrical Engineering activities and deliverables for major projects and asset support.
    • Provide Electrical Engineering Support and steer in Concept definition, FEED, Detailed Engineering design, Installation and Construction phases of the project and to support tendering processes for all Projects.
    • Participate in Site Coordination meeting with Contractor, Site project audits/constructability reviews, Activity kick-off meeting, HSE workshops, quality and technical reviews to assure overall facilities integrity and safe operations.
    • Participate in design reviews at FEED and detailed design, especially SAFOP.

     

    Accountabilities

    • Electrical discipline engineer for the PDT handling multiple project responsibilities.
    • Execute technical work for FEED and Detailed Designs (designs, specifications, drawings, etc.) within designated CTR scopes.
    • Follow-on engineering: Remain engaged in design issues and decisions throughout construction, commissioning and start-up.
    • Ensure quality of technical work and the technical integrity, functionality, constructability, safe operation and reliability of designs.
    • Contribute to excellent HSE performance throughout the engineering phase of the project life cycle.
    • Provide technical input to project electrical deliverables at all phases of major projects
    • Review and provide technical assurance to electrical engineering deliverables.
    • Contribute to the development of equipment specifications during detailed engineering design and ensure compliance with Shell/project standards and specifications during equipment procurement and FAT.
    • Ensure buy-in of relevant authorities, including Heads of Disciplines/project leadership, as required, in the resolution of electrical issues.
    • Ensure alignment with local regulatory and requirements and discipline standards.
    • Ensure the application of Shell Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) during execution.
    • Contribute and partake in all technical and Safety audits and design reviews (e.g. HAZOP, SAFOP, peer reviews, design reviews etc) to ensure compliance with legislation and Shell global policies, guidelines and standards.
    • Ensure drive to achieve Goal Zero at the Project worksite and support the implementation of site HSE Management Plan for the project at site level.
    • Contribute to contracting strategies, ITT Technical scoping and tender evaluations.
    • Supervise and co-ordinate all site Electrical execution activities for projects in line with the agreed schedule and in accordance to the design, engineering and construction requirements using approved plans, procedures and specifications
    • Interface efficiently with Asset team, projects’ operation support team, Service Providers and Statutory bodies, ensuring that requirements are fulfilled in design.
    • Evolve and manage suitable strategy for identification, documentation and Integration on lessons learnt from other related projects, recently completed or ongoing within SCiN to leverage project performance
    • Participate in review of Work method statements (WMS), plans and procedure; Risks assessments and Job hazard analysis (JHA); and the Project execution schedule and work activities plan.
    • Support Projects with Site Coordination meeting with Contractor, Site project audits/constructability reviews, Activity kick-off meeting, HSE workshops, quality and technical reviews to assure overall facilities integrity and safe operations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Electrical Engineering graduate with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, registered with COREN & NSE.
    • Minimum of 7 years + electrical engineering practice in the Oil & Gas industry.
    • Good working knowledge of a broad range of electrical engineering systems and tools and understanding of the EP business and other discipline needs.
    • Conversant with Nigerian and International oil and gas facilities design codes and standards.

    Electrical Equipment & Detail Engineering

    • Conduct Detailed Studies, Define Documentation & Select Equipment
    • Specify Power Systems
    • Specify Electrical Drive Systems
    • Specify Transmission & Distribution Requirements
    • Specify Electromagnetic Compatibility, Earthing & Lightning Protection
    • Specify Heating, Ventilating & Lighting/Utility systems
    • Specify Requirements for Hazardous Areas
