    Education Facilitators

    Responsibilities:

    • Adult Literacy: Your role will involve teaching adults who may have limited reading, writing, or language skills. You will create lesson plans, assess learners’ abilities, and provide instruction tailored to their needs. Your aim will be to improve their literacy skills, including reading comprehension, writing, and communication.
    • Citizenship: As a citizenship educator, your primary responsibility is to teach individuals about the rights, responsibilities, and values of being a citizen. Topics covered might include government structures, history, current events, and the legal system. You will help learners understand the principles and laws that form the basis of citizenship.
    • Civic Education: In this role, you would be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote civic education and community engagement. Your goal will be to foster active citizenship and empower individuals to participate in the decision-making processes that affect their communities.
    • Community Outreach: you will work to identify and engage individuals who may benefit from citizenship, civic education, or adult literacy sessions. This could involve conducting outreach activities, and promoting the importance of lifelong learning and civic participation. You may also provide guidance and support to individuals seeking resources and opportunities related to education and civic engagement.

    Qualifications/Experiences:

    • Minimum of Diploma in Education with at least two years of working experience, preferably in an emergency setting.
    • Good communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
    • Knowledge of Hausa or Kanuri is a must.
    • Good IT skills, including the use of Word and database software.
    • Demonstrable ability to adapt to changing program priorities and emergency priorities.
    • Strong self-starter, able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
    • Commitment to TPO Protection Policy.

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge of local languages.
    • Experience and skills in the management of staff.
    • Experience in designing and facilitating training sessions.
    • Understanding of the regional dynamics of the conflict.
    • Experience in working in an insecure environment.
